The BOSS Strategy Execution System is a structured approach that helps leadership teams turn strategy into consistent execution. Over the years, I’ve seen businesses invest significant time and money creating strategic plans, only to watch them sit on a shelf once the day-to-day demands of running the business took over.

That experience sent me on a quest to answer one question: How do you make strategy executable?

The answer became the BOSS Strategy Execution System. By integrating strategic priorities into leadership meetings, quarterly goals, metrics, accountability, and day-to-day operations, BOSS helps organizations move from good intentions to measurable results. It’s how we turn Strategy to Reality.

The books Traction and Get a Grip have been a major influence on the BOSS Strategy Execution System. Like EOS, BOSS provides a structured operating system that helps leadership teams improve focus, accountability, and execution.

Where BOSS differs is in its flexibility and its emphasis on strategy. BOSS also draws from the work of thought leaders like Jim Collins, Patrick Lencioni, David Baker, James Clear, Kim Scott, Eli Goldratt, and many others. Rather than following one methodology exclusively, BOSS combines proven business principles with practical leadership experience.

Perhaps the biggest difference is this: I’m a consultant who has a system—not someone who simply teaches a system. After serving as a CEO for more than a decade, I know that every business is different. My job isn’t to force your company into a rigid framework; it’s to help you build the discipline, accountability, and execution rhythm that fit your organization and move your strategy forward.

BOSS is designed for owners and leaders who feel like they’ve become stuck on the treadmill of running their business. If you’re working harder than ever, carrying too much of the business in your head, or feeling like growth has created more complexity than clarity, it may be time for a different approach.

As companies grow, they inevitably hit ceilings. The systems, habits, and leadership approach that got you here won’t necessarily get you to the next level. The BOSS Strategy Execution System provides the structure, accountability, and operating rhythm to help your organization break through those ceilings and continue growing with confidence.

While most of my clients have between 10 and 100 employees, BOSS is equally effective for divisions or branch offices of larger organizations where leaders have the autonomy to improve how their business operates. It’s also an excellent framework for companies navigating leadership succession or ownership transition, helping create clarity and continuity during periods of significant change.

When I implemented this operating system as CEO of a 250-person engineering firm, I was struck by two significant changes.

First, we achieved a level of clarity and accountability that I had spent years trying to create as COO. Everyone understood the company’s priorities, their responsibilities, and how success would be measured. That clarity improved communication, decision-making, and execution across the organization.

Second, it gave me something I hadn’t expected—it gave me capacity. Instead of constantly reacting to day-to-day issues, I had more time to think strategically, focus on the future, and lead with far less stress.

Those benefits extended throughout the company. Our employees had greater clarity about expectations and accountability, our employee engagement improved, we earned recognition as one of the Best Places to Work, and our financial performance improved as well.

Every business is different, so I can’t promise identical results. What I can say is this: when leadership teams gain clarity, accountability, and a consistent operating rhythm, the entire organization benefits. In my experience, almost everything about the business gets better.
Everything starts with a conversation.

Even though I have a structured system, one of BOSS Consulting’s core values is that every solution is customized to the client. Every business has its own strengths, challenges, leadership team, and goals, so I don’t believe in forcing organizations into a one-size-fits-all approach.

Our first step is a one-hour ‘Get to Know You’ meeting, either in person or virtually. We’ll discuss your business, your challenges, your opportunities, and where you want to go. Just as importantly, I’ll ask a lot of questions so I can understand your leadership team, your current systems, and what’s standing in the way of achieving your goals.

From there, I’ll develop a concept proposal outlining the consulting or implementation approach I believe will provide the greatest value. Whether that involves implementing the full BOSS Strategy Execution System or focusing on a specific leadership or operational challenge, the recommendation is built around your business—not the other way around.
